Cooking Classes using Fresh and Local Ingredients

Sacramento Natural Food Co-Op
900 Alhambra Blvd
Sacramento CA 95816
(916) 455-2667

If you’ve ever stepped foot in the Co-Op in Sacramento you know that it instantly makes you feel healthier. The smell of the fresh fruits and vegetables and the organic grass fed meat and fish hanging in the butcher shop can have a physical effect on you. Little did I know, the Co-Op offers some amazing (and affordable!) learning center and cooking school classes. After navigating their beautiful website, I found a large calendar of upcoming events for this fall. (Note: For the month of October if you register for your classes online you receive 10% off!)
One that stuck out to me included an Oktoberfest Dinner (October 11, $49) with beer pairing… Um, yes please. Not only did that sound wonderful, Patrick Mulvaney’s (yes, owner and chef at Mulvaney’s restaurant on L and 19th)  is going to be cooking and pairing his food with Eel River organic beers. Can you say amazing? With each month the Co-Op features around 15 classes that will tickle anyone’s fancy. From a Gnocchi Workshop (November 12) to a Stuffing and Gravy Class (November 21) these classes will allow you to explore new ideas and old traditions possibly done in a new way. I will definitely be attending the Cookie Workshop (December 1) where I can learn new ways of giving inexpensive and beautiful cookies for the holidays. I’m already signed up for the Healthy Holiday Entertaining Class (December 12) because I know how much I can eat over the holiday season- so every little bit helps! These are just a few I picked out that look interesting, but please head to the Sacramento Natural Food Co-Op website and check out their calendar, there is a class or workshop for everyone!

(Note: If you are a Co-Op owner prices will be a discounted rate)
