9th Annual Auburn Wine and Food Festival

Come join in on the 9th Annual Wine and Food Festival; the Northern Sierra’s premiere wine and food event. The annual festival is hosted in the historic town of Auburn; a quaint berg located between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. Each year the town celebrates the harvest and crush by hosting 25 local Wineries and 25 exceptional Restaurants from in and around Placer County. Wineries and restaurants are thoughtfully paired to showcase the finest marriage of food and wine from the region. Tables are set up in unique businesses throughout town, so expect some great shopping for one-of-a-kind, jewelry, art and more!
1st Annual Firefighters Chili Cook-Off
Sat. October 8th, 2011; 12pm – 4pm

Tickets: Children free; Adults: $5 per ticket
The 1st Annual Firefighters Chili Cook-off will have five local fire departments competing for the bragging rights for the best chili in the Sacramento Region. There will be chili tasting & voting for all attendees and a second judging with local celebrities. Activities include helicopter landing, fire trucks, interactive events, and demos for children including the use of a fire extinguisher, as well as raffles and door prizes. Proceeds benefit youth safety and health education programs at Safetyville.

Natomas Harvest of Inspiration is a California non-profit organization that is trying to raise money to purchase supplies that educate Natomas children in fine arts and performing arts. This event is free to the public (it doesn’t get better than that!) and festival organizers encourage you to bring your family and a picnic lunch. During the day there will be artist demonstrations, chalk art, arts and crafts, lessons and performances. Jewelry making demos, canvas paintings, carpentry demos and cooking instruction will be on site. Live music, make up demonstrations, dancing and a car show as well! There is something to peak anyone’s interest! You are in store for a wonderful time and supporting a great cause!
Los Banos Tomato Festival

Celebrating “everything tomato” this event will feature Celebrity Chefs, cooking demonstrations showing the use of tomatoes in various cultures, The Tomato Patch kids area with games and crafts, entertainment, Tomato Alley, Salsa and Pasta Cook-Off, a bloody mary contest, an art show and ag display of how the tomato industry affects our community and economy. Placerville 14th Annual Art & Wine Festival

The Placerville Downtown Association is hosting the 14th Annual Art & Wine Festival. Over 35 foothill wineries will pour samples at this event that brings together many of the area’s award-winning wineries and artists in one convenient setting on Historic Main Street. The Festival will feature live music at the Bell Tower by Mick martin & the Blues Rockers. Souvenir wine tasting glasses can be purchased, allowing sampling of all the wines in all locations. Over 35 award-winning, foothill area wineries will be pouring samples inside merchant locations for the festival.
